This month we get to play "catch-up" after the Canadian Nationals. Neyonlites made it down to the ranch with no problems and is all settled in. We had a long spell of hot weather, very dry, very dusty, but it rained nicely off and on for the last week and we have perfect weather. It has been 75-80 degrees and cool at night. Lessons have been given in the outdoor arena with the perfect breezes gently coming through the valley.

Three of our foals to date have been spoken for. "Brandywine Halim", out of Kelvin Melody by Pooma is sold to Applegate Farms. One of our fillies, "Sahara McQueen" out of Karina, by Azanzabar, was sold to McQueen Farms. The other filly is being kept by the owner and the last foal, a colt named "True Majestic" out Charismajestic (aka: Baby), by "Truman" has 3 different families that want him. Meanwhile we get all the fun as they race around the pastures playing and frolicking. They are such great babies, they even come running when called. Every time we turn them out with their mothers they all race to the apple trees and wolf down the ones that fell in the night. If they aren't eating apples they are picking blackberries with their lips and get the juice all over their noses and mouths. They come in with thorns stuck in their noses and berry juice all over their lips. Several of the new owners have gone out to watch this procedure and are amazed at how clever they are.

I want to remind everyone that I will be judging the show in McMinnville on October 12th. It will be held at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds and you can Email me for a class list or call Carleen. There is a real nice selection of classes to please everyone and I think they are putting in progressive reining classes like I requested.

We have several new members to our Horse Academy team. Jane and her daughter Julie are from England, southwest of London. They are both taking lessons and having a great time. This mother and daughter team have set their sights on riding together, especially dressage. It looks a lot like they will be leasing Horse Academy riding animals in the future then securing a horse for themselves.
Our other new member is "Rudy", a lovely appaloosa gelding here for boarding and training. He is owned by Richard, Cathrine, Kyle and JessiLynn Thomas. Rudy has only been here for one day and already Kyle is asking Daddy Richard if he gets to ride too!! Poor Rudy, looks like the whole family will want a turn when he is done getting worked!

We have closed up the pool for the summer, soon the leaves will begin to turn in the mountains, Fall will be on the way and before you know it Halloween will be here. I have had several requests (from Lynnie!!!) about having a Halloween costume show since Oregon Horse Center isn't going to have one this year. Everyone is thinking up costumes for their horses already. If you want a show, Email me and let me see the response, if it is big enough we will do it. Email me at ride@thehorseacademy.com

Until later everyone enjoy what is left of summer and happy trails !
