The end of this month brought several new babies to the HORSE ACADEMY team.

       Karina, owned by
Debbie Borden of British Columbia Canada, leased by HORSE ACADEMY, had a lovely filly by Azanzabar. Our HORSE ACADEMY mare, Charismajestic, (aka, "Baby") Had her very first foal of her career, a gorgeous chestnut colt by "Truman" Laura Venne's lovely champion stallion, who is also a half brother to our HORSE ACADEMY mare, "KC". Pictures will be forthcoming on the foal page soon.

It was time for the Crabbet Classic on the 26th and 27th. Usually this show is rather small but this year was the exception. The classes, especially the riding classes had a marvelous turnout and most had 12 to 16 riders in each. The western was a little leaner, it would run 8 to 12 on an average but that is nothing to sneeze at. There were many fine riders you see at the class A shows in addition to the "regulars" who make it their show of the year to bring their family pets.

Our two new babies, "Song" out of BRR Bleu Melody, and "Halim" out of Kelvin Melody were thrilled to be at the show. Song is a 7 week old filly by Yohannan, a 16.1hh bay stallion at Aracom in Hillsboro, Oregon. Halim is a 4 week old colt by Pooma, a 16.1hh chestnut stallion at Aracom in Hillsboro, Oregon. Both foals were quiet and happy (like their dams) and went through their classes like 20 year old veterans. The foals both got silver medals and were in the high scoring range of the show. The whole APPLEGATE FARMS clan was in attendance as they are purchasing Halim and had made his show halter he wore in his class. Clara (5 years old), one of the APPLEGATE FARMS family members entered her first show. She rode Majestic Delight in lead line class, winning a lovely blue ribbon and showed Majestic Delight in Halter. Clara took her grandfather, Brian, into the class with her, but when it came time to collect her lovely medal granddad put it around Clara's neck so she could wear it around the show grounds as she put her horse away.

Christina and her horse Rizik rode some of the largest attended classes of the show. She got a 5th in her english class and when you are 7 years old riding classes with kids twice your age plus hand galloping (16 in a class) we were all most impressed, she was spectacular. She also showed Rizik in halter. Rizik stood beautifully for her and trotted to the best of his ability. When Christina's legs get longer and she can run faster, this class will be fun and easy for them. She put Rizik's medal on his neck when his score was announced. In Christina & Rizik's walk-trot class (children 10 and under) she was closer to her age group and won a lovely 2nd place ribbon. This is the team to watch for the future, they are just starting but they are way ahead of most of the kids that are years older and more experienced than Christina.

Lynnie Allen rode her horse, Majestic Delight CAHR, and even though the mare is a JR. horse she was taking 1st, 2nds, and 3rds, in every class. Edyne Leavenworth was riding her leased mare, Juleeda, who was being ridden in her first show ever. Juleeda was rather excited and was creating some commotion, but she eventually smoothed out and realized that all those horses thundering around the arena were not "fleeing" some imaginary creature. Jeanne Pickersgill, 71 years old, riding Majestic Delight who is 23 years old, won their walk trot class. When they announced Jeanne's win she rode out of the arena to the loud applause of the crowd. Brandywine Satin made
her show debute, she rode English and Western classes, Michele (the trainer) felt it was best to request Satin not be judged so she rolled her number and rode in for experience. Satin who is 16.2hh moved down the rail like she had been showing all her life. She was relaxed, happy, and other than the hot sticky weather was perfectly content.

Our newest member of the HORSE ACADEMY team, Richard stayed the duration of the show to film and take pictures for the web page. We owe him untold thanks and when you see how beautiful our web site is getting I want you all to realize it is Richard and his awesome talents that compose it. Combine that with his filming our horses and he makes this all possible. If you would like quotes on a web site set up just click our webmaster button and it will take you to Richard.
